Melinda became passionate about dressage at 12 years of age. Over the next 10 years she took every available opportunity to learn everything she could, from mastering horsemanship skills at riding clubs, attending clinics, watching elite athletes train, learning sports psysiology and psychology and volunteering in dressage barns and competitions. In 2004, she was inspired to pursue high level dressage goals after attending international competitions in the USA and Germany. It was at this time that she decided to purchase a serious competition prospect.

Melinda selected a beautiful 3 year old stallion by Rubinstein/ Weltmeyer named Richmond H at the Hanoverian Elite auction in Germany. She imported him to USA where she trained and successfully competed on the Californian show circuit before moving back to Australia in 2007. Once Richmond was imported to Australia, he immediately became a favourite in the barn and always turned heads at competitions for his stunning looks and fabulous temperament. Melinda built Mirabella Warmbloods, an equestrian facility, in Glenorie NSW, to suppor ther and Richmond's training goals here in Australia. Richmond stands at stud here.

At the Equine Lifestyle Festival Melinda and Richmond were awarded small tour champions, a clear highlight for 2015. Within the space of only two months afterwards, they learnt their one times changes for the very first time which catapulted them into the Grand Prix arena.

In late 2015, Melinda returned to Germany to find a mare suitable for breeding and as an up and coming FEI partner. At the elite Hanoverian auction, Melinda purchased 'Friday Midnight K (Frida) who is a State Premium Hanoverian mare by Florencio 1. Melinda manages her boutique stud on the property and produces afew quality Hanoverian foals each year from these world class,Olympic bloodlines.
